Welcome to Stone Bluff Kennels.

We are nestled along a running stream, amongst large farming fields in the back hills
of Blue Rock, Ohio - with easy access to both the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers for
hunting.

We are a state-of-the-art Kennel called Stone Bluff. We raise pigeons, ducks and
pheasants allowing training to be a true hunting experience.

Stone Bluff Kennels is a member of the OVHRC (Ohio Valley Hunting Retriever Club)
and the Licking County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited.

OUR MISSION:
To provide top quality dog training, breeding, stud services and kennel services.

OUR PHILOSOPHY:
Teach the dog AND the handler.
First we interview the owners to determine their expectations, then work with the
dog on a one-to-one basis to test and determine the existing skill level of the dog.
Once the owner’s expectations and the dog’s abilities have been determined, a
training program is established.

OUR HISTORY:
We have been training and breeding dogs for over 25 years.
We began assisting local Police and Sheriff Departments in training their Rottweilers
for both obedience and personal protection. Then we evolved to training dogs for
Ducks Unlimited to auction. We also started to offer obedience classes for all breeds
at the local college. Through our love of hunting and client demand, we broadened
our training to include retriever training and pointing for hunting dogs. Then we
developed programs to train for competitions - AKC (American Kennel Club) and
NAHRA (North American Hunting Retriever Association) hunt tests.
Stone Bluff also trains upland gun dogs including Labrador Retrievers, Chesapeake
Bay Retrievers and English Pointers. We are primarily a training operation. We do
breed 1-2 litters of Labrador retriever and/or Chesapeake Bay retriever puppies a
year, but our dogs are trained before they are bred. Check back for information
